Dr Appiah is an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University, where his work focuses on the use of culturally appropriate communication channels to promote socio-behavioural change, as well as public and community engagement interventions.
Our conversation covers his first exposure to community communication through his father's role as the village communicator in his home country, Ghana, his public health communication work across a number of countries in Sub-Saharan countries, and how he is navigating Global South-North relationships and sharing African wisdom and insights with the rest of the world.
